Punch Line: For the sake of Coffee

This morning had tuned to 104.8 Chennai Live. There were these two! a Doctor-The Rationalist & a Astrologist-The Believer. Both were at their peak of convincing-conversation about their theories. One denying & the other accepting the presence of Supernatural power!
Astro'st, drilling-in his explanation from, why its good to do anything on a full-moon; to, why do you get your pay on the 1st (that was quit a laugh). Doctor, digging-out his peace of mind that, everything has an scientific explanation.
In other words, it was one good laugh which made a good morning. And on the other side of the chattering radio! I'm swirling to think! What if the Dr goes to heaven & then! realises that the other guy was right? and what if the Astro'st did not find himself in heaven & nothing like what he thought! and then! he realises the other was right! & he wasted his time!
So the thing is, haven't they thought of sitting for a cup of coffee ;D
The coffee powder is soft, the flame is strong & what they would have drank was a blend of hot aromatic coffee! Punch line! Lets learn to be Humble!

States - The Story Of My Marriage : fun book , heavy on stereotypes
Filed under: General
Sanobar Sultana, Oct 22 2009 3:30AM
Before i pen my views , let me make it clear that i am a big fan of Chetan Bhagat and his books .
This book is definately better than three idiots but it relies heavily on stereotypes. Come on, how often do you see an auto driver doing a salute for Rajnikanth in the middle of the road ! , or the fact that people here have no ambition apart from getting into IIT , eating curd rice and carrying two liters of oil on their heads.
Now for the good part,Chetan has beautifully captured how parents can turn into a new breed of species when it comes to marriage. Kind sweet parents take one avtar after the other and continue suprising us .
But you have to admit Chetans taken a generous dig on both tamilians and punjabi's. :)
you know what came to my mind after reading this book , we have three noble laureates from this state , does the world still think that madrasis /Chennaites wear alot of oil ,
eat curd rice and lack social life ?

Indian Rock Bands - Are they getting enough share of the pie?

I have always appreciated good music, listening to 'em of course (especially the Rock genere and its relatives..Hard / speed / metal / death / Thrash / Punk /..etc). I so very brutally n honestly belive that the Indian Rock scene is pretty good with so many of 'em playing great music, bands like Parikrama, Motherjane, Moksha, Thermal and a Q, to name a few. Now for the worst part....when I hunt for their music in stores, I get a Big NO...the reason is a usual Music Label that the salesman gives... This situation doesn't help if the Indy Rock has to go places.
